Recently I had to have a look at a really wicked write-up in Fortune 500 Magazine and saw that there is a thing called a skype phone spreading over the internet .These two are now loaded beyond their wildest dreams because of selling their concept to one of the premier sites on the web,e bay.So why am I getting so pumped up?.Many know it as skype. It is not a new idea, making long distance calls over the internet for free.
So all you have is rig up a phone to your laptop and you can see and talk to anyone anywhere in the world using skipe.Saying that though it is not all plain sailing as a slow connection will be of no use to you.Fantastic pictures are not guaranteed however if your connection is slow.
So I went on Ebay and yes you guessed it, they are flogging phones already due to skyp.We think skype has been in existence for a year to date and it is proving immensely popular.
Due to Skypes massive success big commercial telephone companies are trying to get a foothold in the marketplace. All the telecom gurus are watching voip closely thinking that maybe it will crash and burn.Is it here to stay or will it have vanished off the face of the net within 12 months.
My guess is that it is still in its infancy and inevitably will go through a time where a lot of different firms will come up with different ways to do this. The government will undoubtedly see the potential and want to add money to their coffers by using voip.Skype are charging to make phone calls to cell phones and local regular phones, and that's called skyping out, etc.
The next big thing which voip are making a cheeky move towards is the idea of web conferencing. Web video conferencing was a huge idea about 10 years ago but then fell off the radar but now it is making a comeback.
We are also seeing an enormous amount of people using audio and video on the web now that download speeds are that much faster.Everything says that audio and video will be the next biggest thing since sliced bread.
But one thing is for certain, it's not just hype they're muttering about, and only time will tell if the general public will catch on when they get their free skype download. We'll see in the next few years.
